About Brian Kloc

Brian is a visual effects look development and lighting artist based in Vancouver, BC.

Before lighting from the safety of a desk, Brian burned his hands on real lights for over 25 theatrical productions in Detroit. He grew bored of listening to Shakespearean diction and attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago to study fine art. He contracted "Shiny Object Syndrome" when he started lighting shiny objects in the computer and soon after transferred to the Ringling School of Art & Design where he earned his BFA in computer animation.

Upon graduation, Brian went to work at Sony Pictures Imageworks where he has been since 2007. His dedication and passion for lighting has taken him from the role of Associate Technical Director to Lead Lighting Technical Director in the course of four movies.

In his free time, Brian takes photos and continues to burn his fingers on hot lighting equipment. Despite this, he insists that he is a quick learner.
